Deloitte Technology Fast50 nominees announced
- TODAY?S PEARLS ARE PILLARS FOR TOMORROW?S ECONOMY
23-9-2010 - Awards
Deloitte has announced this year's nominees for the Deloitte Technology Fast50. The Award Ceremony on 7 October, where the ranking will be announced, will show which of the companies involved in this competition will win the Fast50 Award.
The Technology Fast50 Award
In the wake of the anniversary year in 2010, Deloitte and its co-sponsors now organise the eleventh Technology Fast50: an annual election of the 50 fastest growing technology companies in the Netherlands and Belgium. Companies such as TomTom, Crucell and Albumprinter earned their place on the list in the past.
Five of the 50 companies now nominated are Belgian, more than double their number compared with last year. The selection is based on the percentage of revenue growth over the past five years (2005 - 2009). To qualify, companies require a minimum growth of 400 percent.
Internet companies well represented
The participants can be from both the public and private sector and encompass all technology segments, including software, internet, biotech/life sciences, computers/auxiliary equipment, semi-conductors, means of communication/networks and media/entertainment. Remarkably, this year almost half the nominees (24) are active in the internet sector. The group's great diversity is a tell-tale sign of internet technology's integration in virtually all sectors, including the travel sector, retail and health care.
